What a Wellbeing World is

A Wellbeing World is an illustrated scene from HERE where each landmark opens an activity: a mindful story, a breathing practice, a movement or a creative idea. The autumn world, Hello, Autumn, is a calm outdoor scene of trees, falling leaves, a hedgehog and a lantern, and it is a gentler way into the library than a list.

Six gentle activities for the season of change

These are the six activities from this week's email, to try alone or share with the children and teens you support.

Autumn Wish List

A warm, creative seasonal activity. Grab a journal or a piece of paper and write or draw an autumn wish list of everything you hope to dream about and bring into this season.

Balancing Bodies

A playful movement activity that explores balance, building focus and a calm, steady body. It works as well in a classroom or group session as it does at home.

Change Will Help Me Grow

An autumn affirmation for teens, adults and families. It gently encourages embracing change, recognising personal growth and feeling empowered to shape the future. It takes about two minutes.

Positive Bookends

A daily mindfulness practice for children, teens and adults: start and end each day by naming three things you like about yourself or your life. A gentle habit that builds self-esteem, gratitude and emotional resilience, in about five minutes.

Tammy The Tree

A gentle autumn story about Tammy, a big tree who meets the change of season with courage, using slow leaf breaths to let her worries drift away.

Leaf Breath

A calm, grounding breathing activity. Breathe in and out slowly while tracing up and down the edges of a leaf, real, drawn or in the air.

Also in the autumn world

  • Holly Hedgehog Finds Courage, a seasonal story about finding courage through a Leaf Breath when a new day feels big
  • Autumn Adventure Bingo, for heading outdoors to spot, collect, hear, smell and feel the season
  • Create An Autumn Colour Palette, a creative activity exploring the colours of the changing season
  • Tree Pose, a standing balance for focus, calm and grounding
  • Autumn Sensory Box, for noticing how leaves, pinecones and acorns feel, sound and smell
