Powered by HERE: how it works

How HERE finds the right activity for the moment

HERE works like asking a colleague who has read every activity on the shelf. You describe the moment, not the person: their age, how they are feeling, where you are and how much time you have. HERE looks only at activities its own team has written and reviewed, and hands back the few that fit. Try it below with four real examples, one of them in Spanish.

A Wee Bit of Code

In plain words: you tell HERE about the moment you are in, and HERE hands back reviewed activities that fit it. It is like asking a colleague who has read every activity on the shelf.

  1. You describe the moment

    Who it is for, how they feel, where you are and how long you have. A few details about the moment, never about a person.

  2. HERE does the finding

    It looks through activities the HERE team has written and reviewed, and picks the ones that suit the moment.

  3. Your page shows the ideas

    Ready-to-use activities appear on your own site, app or platform, right when they are needed.

Try it yourself

Pick a moment, press the button, and see what comes back.

What HERE gives back

Three reviewed activities that fit the moment, ready to use.

Press the button and your suggestions appear here.

Every activity is written and reviewed by the HERE team.

HERE does the finding. You just describe the moment.
For your developer: the same request, as code

Each line matches one of the details above. Your developer sends this small request to HERE, and HERE sends back the activities.

{
"age": "8-12",
"feelings": [
"worried"
],
"setting": "classroom",
"time_available_minutes": 10,
"language": "en",
"mode": "group",
"result_limit": 3
}

What this means for you

Less searching

Describe the moment and get ideas back straight away, instead of hunting through folders and websites.

Reviewed, not random

Every activity is written and reviewed by the HERE team, so you know exactly what you are sharing.

Fits the moment

Age, mood, setting and time all count, so the idea suits the room you are actually in.

Not a developer? You do not need to be.

The code is for teams who like to build. If you would rather not touch any, the embed puts the same HERE on your page with one copy and paste.

This demonstration uses a small set of sample content. It issues no credentials and does not read the HERE catalogue.

What HERE will and will not do

  • It only suggests activities that exist in HERE's reviewed library. It never invents a title, a link or an activity.
  • It keeps to your limits. An activity longer than the time you have is never suggested.
  • It answers in the language you ask for, and will not offer an English activity to a Spanish request.
  • It says why an activity fits without diagnosing anyone or making a clinical claim.
  • It is not a crisis, safeguarding or reporting service, and is never presented as one.

Questions people ask

Are HERE's activities generated by a computer?

No. Every activity is written and reviewed by the HERE team. Noa, HERE's companion, helps find the right one for the moment; it never writes new ones.

What does HERE need to know?

A few details about the moment: the age group, how they are feeling, where you are, how long you have, the language, and whether it is for a group or one person. Never a name or anything personal.

What happens if nothing fits?

HERE says so and returns nothing, rather than offering a near miss that does not suit the moment.

Does it work in Spanish?

Yes. Ask in Spanish and HERE answers with its Spanish activities.

Is the demonstration the real thing?

It runs the same matching on a small set of real HERE activities. It does not read the full library and needs no account.

Can our own platform ask HERE directly?

Yes, through the Powered by HERE pilot API, which takes the same details and returns the same kind of answer. Access is by pilot agreement.
