Mindful Making Activity: Growing Respect
Growing Respect: A “Mindful Making At Home” Family Activity
While you are spending lots of time home with your little ones, we wanted to share some ways to be creative while also supplementing your child’s learning. The creative activities we recommend are simple and can be done with objects lying around the house.
Growing Respect is a lovely activity to do this time of year as we move into spring. Also, during the current state of affairs as we spend more time together in confined spaces, issues may arise that need to be resolved. One way of helping to release stress and anxiety, is by breaking out the crayons or chalk, and creating a garden of respect. The activity helps to put things in perspective and allows you and your family members to take a step back and remember the simple things that are so important in life. All you need is some paper to draw a tree or garden, and then write down phrases that encourage respect.
You can also write the phrases on different pieces of coloured paper, then get to cutting, sticking and sharing! It’s a lovely activity that encourages family bonding, allows you to learn about each other, and provides a nice, creative break during the day.
Option: Do this activity as chalk art
